Renewable Energies

Against the backdrop of the global environmental objective of reducing CO2 emissions, the so-called renewable energy sources (wind, solar, hydro, geothermal) have been increasingly promoted for years. The current crisis of the nuclear energy will necessitate an even faster "switchover" of the country's energy management towards environmentally friendly, renewable energies. The large-scale settlement of wind energy and solar systems is an economically reasonable option from the point of view of energy policy, on the local level of land use planning in a densely populated country like Germany, however, it also generates conflicts that have to be solved by planning. At the higher level of regional planning, priority areas and so-called exclusion-free areas are designated to identify territories with high potentials for the implication of wind energy. In the exclusion-free areas the location decision with all the related issues of an environmentally-friendly urban design of potential wind farms is delegated to the cities and municipalities. Since the legislature still does not provide specific statutory standards to determine the necessary safety distances between wind power plants and settlement areas, in many situations site-specific technical assessments and a careful consideration of all environmental issues are required in order to ensure an appropriate urban development. Photovoltaic and solar thermal systems are not among the privileged projects in external areas. Yet they can also be erected in the open countryside, especially where there is already a pre-pollution, e.g. caused by landfills or in conversion areas. We offer the following services for you:
